FRIDAY LIVE SHOW
The show premiered in July of 2004, and The BAGeL Radio Friday Live Broadcast was born. It took us a little over 2 years to figure out that the name The BAGeL Radio Friday Live Broadcast was a bit of a mouthful, and in August of 2006 the show became known as 480 Minutes (a riff on the name of the MTV Sunday night program on which they played cool videos, 120 Minutes).
The show lasts for eight hours...seriously...and is broadcast from wherever Ted is, which is usually San Francisco, and there have been remote broadcasts from Los Angeles (Venice Beach and Eagle Rock), New York (Manhattan and Queens), Austin, TX. during SXSW, poolside in Palm Springs, CA., Japan (Nagano), Freeport, IL., Roscoe, IL., Boston, MA., Guerneville, CA., and Norway (Oslo). Seriously. Besides tons of new music, the show also includes band, gig and tour info, interviews, in-studio performances, and giveaways.
480 Minutes is then rebroacast in it's entirety beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time on Friday evenings, and then twice more on Saturdays (roughly 5 a.m. and 3 p.m.) before expanding back into fresh playlists constructed each week from our massive and well-curated music library.
TUESDAY LIVE SHOW
Tuesdays at 3 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time is the FUZZY ROAD radio show, also hosted by Ted (he owes us, so we are working him to the bone). This 90-minute weekly show shines a lava lamp on tons of amazing new psych, garage, and space rock as well as the artists who invented and pioneered the fuzzy road in the mid to late 1960s. Artists featured during the first few episodes have included The Black Angels, Fuzz, Syd Barrett, Crocodiles, Thee Oh Sees, Electric Banana, The Raveonettes, The Beatles, Mikal Cronin, Creation, The Black Hollies, Dum Dum Girls, The Gods, Charlatans UK, The Kills, Swingin' Medallions, The Warlocks, Ty Segall, Cheatahs, Strawberry Alarm Clock, The Rebel Set, The Electric Prunes, Quilt, and The Music Machine. FUZZY ROAD is rebroadcast Tuesday nights at 11 p.m. Eastern Time.
