Fuzzy Road #98 - What Be Fuzzy?

In the early 1960s a musical style called garage rock was born.  It was loud, raucous, simple, rough-edged, and generally didn't break into the mainstream.  Kinda like punk rock.  Towards the middle of the 1960s another music style was born.  It was sometimes quiet, sometimes loud, generally melodic and adorned with old sounds distorted into new sounds and new sounds created by new uses of old technology as well as new technology.  It's birth may well have been influenced by drugs and, for some, listening to it could bring about altered psychedelic states hence it's name, psychedelic rock.  These styles have never gone away but have been enjoying a resurgence in recent years -- bands like The Black Angels, Ty Segall, Crystal Stilts, Crocodiles, Thee Oh Sees, The Allah Las, Dum Dum Girls and others have each put out multiple quality records over the past decade plus.

The blending of the old and new is what our Tuesday show is all about, so please tune in for our weekly garage and psych rock spotlight show: the Fuzzy Road radio show, starting at 2:50pm Eastern U.S. Time.

Today's Fuzzy Road radio show will feature songs we've never played on Fuzzy and even a couple that have never been played on BAGeL Radio including music by Kangaroo, Faith Healer, Malachai, Los Salvages, Heaters, Family (pictured), and more.
