"480 Minutes" - Nancy
Nancy Pelosi is the best person for the job of Speaker of the House today. Has she messed up pretty royally a couple of times in recent weeks? She sure has. Despite the "all lives matter" self-inflicted wound from which she and her party will never fully recover, and the decision to try to negotiate with a terrorist by offering an additional $1B to reopen the government shut down by tantrum, she remains the most qualified person for the job. She has the impossible to replicate combination of experience, knowledge, connections, and strength to navigate Superstorm Donald.
That said, those two recent unforced errors need to be seen as wake-up calls to the Democratic Party -- the party needs to identify, train, and groom a few high character, dedicated, genius-level potential replacements for when Speaker Pelosi retires. They need to do this yesterday.
If they haven't already, House Democrats also need to immediately subpoena #Individual1's tax returns -- the White House will stonewall as long as possible, so the sooner that subpoena is served, the sooner we will have evidence that both Don and Don Jr. actually told the truth when they said that the President of the United States of America cheats on his taxes, and that “Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross section of a lot of [his] assets.”
