"480 Minutes" - Friday The 13th
Happy Friday the 13th!
In this era of Herr Stephen Miller pushing knowingly bad-faith immigration policy, lapdog Evangelical Mike Pompeo running a mostly barren State Department, and a fourth National Security Advisor now kicked to the curb, is Friday the 13th even scary anymore?
Usually the start of September hits us with a ton of new releases which is awesome but also makes the review process that much more time-consuming and difficult. Not so this September. The submission volume has increased, of course, but the quality has been underwhelming at best. Also there seem to be a lot of newbies and incompetent industry veterans out there who are unable or unwilling to send files in the correct format, or at a useable bit rate, or with proper metadata, and those people help balance out the sheer volume of submissions because theirs can be discarded quickly.
This confluence of clumsiness allowed for going back through things to ensure that the reason we had an unusually high (98.6%) rate of rejection wasn't just based on mood. It turns out that regardless of mood, this week's batch of useable submissions sucked as a whole, but we did find a few things worthy of your attention to debut today.
