Now that it has been leapfrogged by MAGA, the GOP this week woke up to the dual facts that they have (a) a grifting serial lying fabulist on their side of the House of Representatives, (b) a junior senator who has never served in the armed forces (he’s a fucking college football coach, people) from a state he doesn’t even live in who has been holding up military promotions for most of this year, & neither of these things is a particularly good look for the party that’s supposed to stand for family values & loves the military so very much. So far nothing has been done to fix these situations, but at least now they seem to acknowledge them, so…progress…?

Hopefully the GOP will also soon realize what a threat new Speaker of the House Mike "we don't live in a democracy, but a biblical republic" Johnson is to representative democracy.

Did you hear the one about the executive Vice President of the Trump Organization (Don Jr.) who under oath smugly stated that he had no understanding of accounting standards? He’s the person who signed the financial statements that which got the company investigated. Has someone convinced him that’s a valid defense for dereliction of his duties? Does he really think that the judge is going to place the blame for the malfeasance on the people his company hired to fraudulently inflating assets? Personal responsibility for you, pass-the-buck for the Trump family. Only the best people, folks. And only the best offspring, as well. In his defense, little Don appeared clean & sober. Dumb like wood, but presentable.
