More American babies died in a hail of bullets in a classroom in Uvalde, TX this week not long after a bunch of black Americans died in a hail of bullets in a supermarket in Buffalo, NY. The side with blood on its hands remains in denial, unable to admit that the reason we have mass shootings is easy access to guns. Their arguments are laughably weak & those canards are blocking progress on extremely popular gun control legislation. “Guns don’t kill people; evil people kill people.” Yeah, right, so lets make sure that all Americans, evil & good, have access to as many guns & other weapons of war as possible. “We need to arm teachers.” An armed guard & two police officers were on scene before the TX shooter even got into the school. “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun, is a good guy with a gun.” In Uvalde there were 3 trained armed good guys with guns yet, based on police statements, it appears possible that “good guy” bullets killed some of those innocent children & teachers. “The 2nd Amendment is sacrosanct & guarantees all Americans the right to bear arms.” (A) the 18th amendment was later repealed by the 21st Amendment, making it crystal clear that there is nothing sacrosanct about an Amendment (aka change) to the Constitution; (B) does this right extend to missiles, tanks, planes, bombs conventional & nuclear? If not, why?

I could go on but the “my right to feel important trumps everyone’s right to safety” crowd won’t hear reason, because reason undermines every rationale for “guns guns more guns!” Every. Last. One.
