Kansas, a deep red state (which used to mean Republican & now means Trumplickan), voted down a proposed amendment to the state constitution which would have banned abortion. Putting such a deeply unpopular amendment on every state ballot would reveal that the #ForcedBirth agenda is a bridge too far even in solidly Republican states. Oklahoma & Missouri have already enacted Gileadean near-total abortion bans, & other states would surely end up going the wrong way, but if the “What’s The Matter With…” state got it right others can, too.

The opening salvo in the Heritage Foundation efforts to roll back civil rights will unnecessarily cause great pain & ruin lives, but may prove to be a grave misstep. Americans who understand the concept behind the Establishment Clause have new reason to believe that the dark forces at work undermining democracy, the rule of law, & equality represent but a loud but shriveled, miserable, hateful minority.

(Wait. Is that too harsh? 10-year old rape victim had to travel to another state to have her life saved legally, dark forces attacked & vilified the doctor who saved the kid… No. If anything my words are not harsh enough).

In case anyone is wondering, I am aware that at the bottom of this post is a campaign ad for Liz Cheney featuring her dad, Darth. The reality-based community needs numbers right now, even if it means drawing from the administration which paved the way for The Orange Menace.
