"480 Minutes" - Heaters Play Brooklyn Tonight
Today's all-new 480 Minutes show will feature new music by The Dead Weather (Nashville, TN, @DeadWeatherNews), Kurt Vile (Philadelphia, PA, @therealkurtvile), Menace Beach (Leeds, England, @Menace_Beach), Wand (Los Angeles, CA), and Youth Lagoon (Boise, ID, @YouthLagoon).
We'll probably hear a Jesus & Mary Chain song or two -- they performed their debut album, Psychocandy, here in NY last night and I was pretty much grinning ear to ear throughout. There was a moment before the first note was played when Jim Reid uttered aloud a love letter aimed at the completists, the sticklers, the walking J&MC wikis, the true fans. It went something like this:
We'll also hear some Heaters song ahead of going to see them tonight. I will likely running on fumes at best but I really need to witness them perfoming "Kamikaze" live and in person.

There was a moment before the first note was played when Jim Reid uttered aloud a love letter aimed at the completists, the sticklers, the walking J&MC wikis, the true fans. It went something like this:
"We're going to play our album Psychocandy. We're not going to play 'Some Candy Talking' which was on the U.S. version of the album but was not on the UK version, and we're doing the UK version. We will first do a short set of songs not from Psychocandy. We are going to play 'Some Candy Talking' during that set."It was a wonderful, knowing nod from one geek to all the others in the room that, even had the band sucked, would have made the night worthwhile. Fortunately the band did not suck and that was just the cherry on top.
We'll also hear some Heaters song ahead of going to see them tonight. I will likely running on fumes at best but I really need to witness them perfoming "Kamikaze" live and in person.
