We began airing San Francisco via Dublin (Ireland, not the one in Alameda County, CA) band [the] caseworker since their 2003 debut album was released exactly 7 weeks after BAGeL Radio was launched. We didn’t compile top music of the year charts that year. Had we, These Weeks Should Be Remembered would likely have been our #1 album, certainly in our top five.

This 2006 piece & interview do well in describing the music & the band:

Of 2nd album When I Was A Young King, the band’s 2nd album, Andrew Lau writes, “Its mesmerizing "Markievicz's Walls" - crafted to daze any listener - encapsulates their long, slow brand of hypnotherapy as a thin line of feedback leads into a gentle churning riff and vocals before a barrage of guitars, drums and hollow harmonies wash away the bottom. Music as smart and appealing as this generates a natural urge for the band to hit harder: when [the] caseworker resists this obvious temptation, the band stands in complete control. Their songs are musical anomalies, soundtracks to long stretches of open land.”

If you liked the droning hypnotic aspects of bands like the Velvet Underground, Galaxy 500, you should give their music a listen. Their music is available on Spotify. Perhaps start with album #2, then go back in time to the debut.

Tune in today & every Tuesday from 3-5pm ET for an all-new live-hosted Fuzzy Road radio show featuring new & recent & classic psych & garage rock & all the fuzziness in between.

The show is rebroadcast beginning @ 11pm Tues, 5am Weds, & 11am Sun (all times Eastern U.S.). Tune in, turn on, fuzz out, on BAGeL Radio.

We had some technical difficulties this morning.

Our apologies, it was a back-end issue; for some unknown reason we could not connect w/ our stream-host, so although we were sending out music, the hardware that allows listener to connect to that music was not holding up its end of the bargain.

We are investigating why this happened hoping this was an isolated incident.

Sorry for the inconvenience, & thank you for your help (particularly Brummie Martyn in Polesworth UK, Dan in the Valley Full of Pioneer & Laura Jean in Memphis) & patience.
