"480 Minutes" - BAGeL Radio Top Music of 2019
Tomorrow night marks the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Sunday marks Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere: happy (almost) winter and (almost) summer, respectively.
Today is the day we go all in on 2019 -- tune in to BAGeL Radio today to hear our top ~200 songs of 2019 -- today's playlist will be all 2019 music all day (with a couple of stragglers released too late in 2018 to be included in our last year-end show).
Erroneously advertised all week as beginning at 10 a.m., the top songs of the year countdown will begin with song #50 at 11 a.m. Eastern U.S. Time. We should reach the top 10 at around 1:30 p.m. and finish up around 2:00 p.m. The rest of the show will consist of our 150 or so other favorite songs of the year including our favorite cover versions, favorite songs not sung in English, and our top political songs of the year sprinkled throughout.
For the year-end best-of edition of 480 Minutes the show is extended to a 12-hour run-time. That means that the rebroadcasts will begin 2 hours later than usual and start up again every 12 hours over the weekend (9 p.m., 9 a.m., 9 p.m., and so on, and so on, and so on...). Catch up on 2019 in one day! The show is full of holiday gift ideas (hint: music!) so keep a list and check it twice (that's what reruns are for!).
The show is live-hosted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Eastern U.S. Time, followed by 4 hours of uninterrupted music to accommodate as many fantastic 2019 songs as we can.

The past couple of weeks were spent listening to the hundreds of new songs we added to rotation this year and arranging them and the albums they came from into lists. As usual not everything expected to make their respective top 50 lists did, and the chances that a deserving song/album/artist was inadvertently and unfairly overlooked in the process is near 100%, so apologies in advance for that.
