It recently dawned on me what a cruel & twisted thing it is for parents in this part of the world to name their son Lucien. What do they think is going to happen the first day of elementary school? That’s right! The other kids in the class are going to decide how to torment the poor kid for the next several years by calling him Lucy. It’s going to happen, & even if the teachers catch on & forbid it, it will still happen in the school yard & other locations outside the prying eyes of authority.

Of course, it could be worse for poor little Lucy, I mean Lucien…he could live in a red state, as 14-year old Mason Schermerhorn did. Until today. When he was killed by a fellow 14-year old’s Christmas present from his dad. Red states hold 10 of the 11 top spots for gun deaths in this country where we have allowed 30 mass shootings in the past 20 days. Way to go, 2A folks.

Meanwhile Trump on the stump has become about as coherent as 10,000 cans of alphabet soup sprayed onto an overcrowded pig farm (crowded because people aren’t eating bacon anymore, don’t you know) by a power-generating windmill then pieced together into word salad by a man-eating shark with a Jewish Space Laser strapped to its head.
