“480 Minutes” - Putin is the Enemy
It’s not a stretch to suggest that 95% of the world’s literate, connected population is clear on the fact that Putin is, & always has been, our enemy. Since his days in the KGB when he watched in horror as the U.S. outmaneuvered soviet leadership via the strategic use of soft power & coordination between our allies across the globe to undermine the Soviet economy & military. Eventually the USSR crumbled under the weight of its own corruption, inability to see nuance, & their foolhardy invasion of Afghanistan in the 1980s.
Somehow a handful of U.S. “leaders” are unaware of this simple fact, & keep saying & doing things that make them seem like Russian assets. These twits include President Donald “I take no responsibility whatsoever,” Vice President J.D. Pants-on-fire, & Defense Secretary Pete “Pour Me Another” weekend TV host don’t know what the rest of the world has known since before the first web browser was invented. The lie that Ukraine started the now 3.5 year-old war with Russia is fast becoming orthodoxy for elected Republicans despite readily accessible footage of the least qualified SecDef in U.S. history in his previous job at Fox news describing the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
As with “the election was rigged,” “I’m going to build that wall & Mexico is going to pay for it,” “convicted January 6th insurrectionists are hostages,” & too many instances of “I don’t even know him/her” to count, this is yet another obvious Trump big lie that his underlings must parrot or risk defenestration. Thanks to the GOP, Fox News, Twitter, & the Make America Gullible Again geniuses the wholly self-interested fantasies of a deranged criminal know-nothing con artist narcissist are replacing objective reality before our very eyes. The media & the masses don’t know how to process this level of mendacity & soul-stripping capitulation.
