“480 Minutes” - Conservatives Rebut Big Lie; TFG Repeats It
A year & a half after the presidential election kicking The Orange Menace to the curb, a group of prominent conservatives issued a letter rebutting the continuing poisonous election lies being pushed by said menace, sitting members of Congress, other prominent Republicans, & all MAGAts. Better late than never…?
Seriously though — that group is not dumb. They obviously know that Trumpism leads to political violence & authoritarianism, that their party has been hijacked by it, & that the American democracy will not hold if these fascists seize power again. And yet somehow this group, like the Never Trumpers before them, can’t seem to summon the needed nerve to urge like-minded Republicans to save the country by voting for Democrats.
Speaking of prominent Republicans, rather than face the real-life implications of overturning Roe v. Wade, for week’s many have loudly, callously suggested that the story of an impregnated 10-year old being taken from Ohio to Indiana to have an abortion was a hoax. The child had to travel out of state to terminate the life-threatening bundle of cells growing in her uterus because like other “red” states, Ohio is now Gilead. FOX also started a Dr. George Tiller-style campaign against the Indiana doctor who may well have saved the life of 10-year old victim by providing her necessary health care, health care which was legal nationwide from 1973 until The Obscene Court began their task of undoing civil rights last month. Dr. George Tiller was an abortion provider relentlessly attacked on Fox by disgraced former host Bill O’Reilly over & over again until he’d convinced the pro-forced-birth contingent to murder the good doctor (how pro-life of them!).
