“480 Minutes” - CNN Is Now Fox Lite

Republican governors including Cruella DeSantis are spending taxpayer money to trick & ship immigrants & asylum seekers to Sanctuary Cities w/o warning the local governments forcing them to scramble to feed, clothe, house, & protect these humans used by the @GOP as political pawns. It’s as disgusting as it sounds. And Fox News, OANN, Newsmax, et al are all celebrating with Stephen “Family Separation” Miller over “owning the libs” & ignoring the criminal negligence & outright cruelty of the enterprise. Also they include snide, “let’s see how rich Democrats like dealing with immigrants” while intentionally failing to mention that these sanctuary cities have taken in & cared for these humans because that’s what humans do.

These stunts were called for by Tucker Carlson, another example of the GOP taking marching orders from a Fox News host whose defense in court for his lies was that no reasonable person would take what he says seriously.

You may have noticed that CNN has become another outlet for right wing lies, albeit with more subtlety than others. With regard to the asylum seekers as pawns, today they posted a story which states, “many of the migrants were appreciative of the ride.” The story even contains a sub-head titled, “Who is happy for the ride?” but never gets around to providing quotes from the victims saying they were appreciative. The article also sets up a straw man asking, “Are they being forced on buses & trains?” In these most recent stunts every mainstream news organization is saying that the migrants were lied to about expedited work permits & such to the get them to agree to be a part of a scheme they knew nothing about — CNN, like Fox News, manages to leave that out & instead presents a rebuttal to a made-up argument.

People have trusted CNN as a centrist news outlet for decades. With all of the lies & obfuscation & actual crises going on they can be forgiven for not noticing the rightward lurch. Please point out the change to anyone you know who watches CNN. They may not believe you at first, but if you show them evidence every few days of their new status as the gateway drug to the nonsense conspiracy theories & “alternative facts” of Fox et al.

Millions of the Fox-lobotomized remain convinced that the guy who ran a casino into the ground was a great businessman. They don’t question why that same “billionaire businessman” — who boasted that he was so rich & above outside influence that he would finance his own campaign (he didn’t) — needed their money to challenge the election he lost. He defrauded his followers for hundreds of millions of dollars by repeating the big lie & claiming that donations would help his (non-existent) “Official Election Defense Fund,” instead using that money defraud as a slush fund for his Save America PAC (political action committee). The clear lack of respect Team Trump has for MAGA intelligence is on full display with this scam wrapped in a scam.
