“480 Minutes” - Clown Congress
We’re back at it! 8-hours of live-hosted indie rock noise pop post-punk shoe gaze psych & garage rock all the live-long day! But first, a note about the domestic enemies working to undermine the rights of Americans to govern themselves.
Here in the U.S. the MAGA-infested racist sexist Islamophobic anti-Semitic GOP elected to congress a few new members whose only qualification is their willingness to be spanners-in-the-works. These people don’t believe in representative democracy, they are chaos agents out to destroy it, & as a result we don’t have a functioning (or even actual officially recognized) legislature.
Can you imagine how much (literal & figurative) poo would be flying around the House of Representatives/mainstream media if the Democrats were the ones unwilling to tie their own shoes & were preventing the U.S. government from functioning? If the Democrats were trying to implement rules changes designed to sabotage the U.S. economy?
One newly elected Republican lied about just about everything in his biography — his education, family, ancestry, religion, employment, residence, & based on his lack of response when his name was called on national television…twice…perhaps even his own name — yet the GOP will seat him. They haven’t yet seated him b/c the clown show with the slim majority & even slimmer civic is preventing anyone from being seated. The Man Who Would Be Speaker (in another universe) is considering making concessions to outright lunatics, concessions which will give each individual lunatic the power to grind the U.S. government to a halt. Americans who can’t think beyond their next Slurpee want that. You know who else wants that power? #VladTheInvader & other enemies of the U.S. want that power. That more than a few Republican elected members of Congress are requesting this power (& others are considering giving it to them) is a blinding neon sign warning that today’s GOP is anti-American democracy.
This is what happens when you vote for people who have zero interest in governing. This is what happens when you vote for people whose campaign funding comes from oligarchs foreign & domestic. This is what happens when you vote for people who voted to overturn an election which put them themselves into office.
