“480 Minutes” - Scary Clowns
I speak not of Pennywise, Pogo, Canio, nor The Joker, but of the untethered from reality lying Republican candidates for President who took the Fox stage for a debate this week. Fox did a masterful job of conflating Right Wing talking points (the Democrats want everyone to be able to abort your babies even once they are born!) into the reasonable-sounding questions. In reality it wasn’t masterful, it was simple, as the clowns were so far out there they made it easy. Clowndidate Tim Scott said, “We can’t allow states like CA, NY & IL to have abortion on demand up to the day of birth." This directly translates to: “We can’t allow states to make decisions,” which contradicts both his party’s long-running “STATE’S RIGHTS!!” bleats as well as the Supreme Courts stated goal of overturning Roe V. Wade, which they claimed was to give the choice of Choice to the states.
The GOP’s goal is to rule by any means necessary, not govern by consent. Party leadership spreads obvious lies, obfuscation, & incendiary violent anti-democratic rhetoric (or at least refuses to stand up to those who do), yet these mendacious cowards are supported by roughly 1/3 of the American electorate. If the starts of last night’s prime time clown show weren’t scary enough, the fact that they are entrenched in power & maintain any level of support thanks to the Fox-lobotomized millions makes for a dire situation. Tens of millions still watch/believe the network who settled a case for nearly $1B for intentionally misinforming its viewers for months (for decades, really, but the Dominion voting machined case was about a few specific months). Over 1 million still follow the idiot who started the nonsensical PizzaGate conspiracy theory. Hell, people still consume Alex Jones’ nonsense & buy his “survivalist” gear. He’s the guy who called the massacre of 26 elementary school kids a hoax, admitted in court that he lied about it, & was ordered to pay $1B in damages to the families who he’d not just gaslighted but directly attacked after they’d lost their precious children.

The material has a nice shine to it and feels soft. It fits true to size. It was washed in cold water and let it hang dry. It still looks good as new. I didn't dry it because I don't dry any of my tight shirts.”
