“480 Minutes” - BAGeL Hats!

Please note: there may not be a 7pm (ET) rerun of todays 480 Minutes program. I am going to try to meet up with dear old friends this evening & will need to jet before I can complete the post-production work required to make the reruns happen. With the help of “Sal in NYC” I hope to get enough done that the 1st rerun will happen as usual, then I will try to finish up the rest after those evening activities. 🤞

Here in the U.S. the mainstream media is desperately clinging to typical horse-race coverage of the upcoming primary elections despite the fact that the leading Republican candidate is polling better than the rest of the Republican field combined, while the incumbent has no challenger. It’s as disgusting as it is dangerous.

Trump was unqualified to be President in 2016, seemingly learned nothing while in office, lost the 2020 election & has continued to lie about it ever since despite it being referred to as “the most secure in American history” by his own Homeland Security Department, & is now under indictment for dozens of the myriad crimes he committed in office. Meanwhile House Republicans are trying to burn down the government from the inside (according to their own leader, no less) to distract from their unpopular policies & the open criminality of their standard bearer.

Despite all of this, somehow the “Is Joe Biden too old?” narrative is getting more play in the media than anything substantive.

Point of fact: Joe Biden is 3 years older than the leading Republican candidate, has a long record of governing competently w/o criming, & is in better physical, emotional, & mental health than his vulgar traitorous know-nothing orange opponent.

While I’m calling out the media: every climate change-caused disaster story should include a reference to the fact that the GOP today stands firmly against efforts to stem the causes of the climate crisis & has done so since long before Ronald Reagan dismantled the solar panels Jimmy Carter installed atop the White House.

Dear mainstream media — you royally fucked this up in 2016. Don’t fuck it up again.
