"480 Minutes" - Significant Disruption
The U.S. *President, his favorite hate-monger, and Fox News have been forcefully contradicting (and in some cases muzzling) U.S. and global experts about the seriousness of the coronavirus. The experts at the CDC are recommending preparations for "significant disruption of our lives," while the *President used his press conference to tell the world that we're #1, he's doing an extraordinary job, and "[Nancy Pelosi is] trying to create a panic and there's no reason to panic because we have done so good."
Having fired the U.S. Pandemic Response Team in 2018 (and never replacing it, not even with Tiffany), the very stable genius has put Vice President Mike Pence, a science denier who downplayed the the health risks of smoking, created an HIV crisis in Indiana as governor by cutting funding to Planned Parenthood, and cannot trust himself alone with women who aren't his wife, in charge of the situation. Gay conversion therapy to the rescue!
Older people are at greatest risk of death from coronavirus; most Fox News viewers and members of Cult45 are older people; so, in a way, the mendacious greedy sociopaths in charge may unwittingly be doing the rest of us a favor.
In other news, tons of great new music arrived this week, plus a couple of worthwhile re-releases from under-appreciated bands.
Today's show will be live-hosted from 9am-5pm Eastern U.S. Time and feature new music by Bell Towers (Berlin, Germany), Car Seat Headrest (Seattle, WA, @carseatheadrest), Caribou (Dundas, Ontario, Canada, @caribouband), CLIFFFS (Dallas, TX, @ClifffsMusic), Greg Dulli (Afghan Whigs, @MrGregDulli), I Break Horses (Stockholm, Sweden, @ibreakhorses), King Krule (London, England, @KingKruleST), Ratboys (Chicago, IL, @ratboysmusic), Sleaford Mods (Nottingham, England, @sleafordmods), Soccer Mommy (Nashville, TN, @sopharela), and re-released music by East Village (London via Buckinghamshire, England), and The Springfields (Chicago, IL).
